CANON DPP SOFTWARE

Brian Says… There are several points at which your images might be having the SRGB profile applied in DPP. Firstly, check the filenames from the camera; if the first character is an underscore then you have set the camera to Adobe RGB. Secondly, there are a few different ways of working in DPP that can change how the files are processed, and the colour space assigned.

Select a thumbnail image in DPP, select View> info from the menu and you will see which colour space was used in the camera and which has been applied to the image. Next, look at Adjustments> work color space and see if this has been changed to SRGB. DPP can be set to use a specific colour space in its preferences, and you may have SRGB set accidently.

When I process my photos with DPP they come out with the SRGB profile. What settings do I need to change to get images with the Adobe RGB profile? Andrew Strachan, Inverness
