For this first setup Tim (and his assistant Ed) were careful to get the lights perfectly set up before the bird of prey was brought in, as it’s important for the birds to settle naturally without having the interruption of a new light that may be needed. We wanted to get a natural first pose looking directly at the camera and used the aid of dog squeaky toys to gain the bird’s attention – and I caught this inquisitive expression.
