STEP BY STEP EDIT YOUR BAND PHOTOS
Use Lightroom to edit, enhance, and fix any issues with your images
01 edit in raw
Lightroom is a great tool for editing a shoot like this. We can begin by sorting and rating the pick of the photos, and then enhance the tones. The best place to do this is Lightroom’s Basic Panel. The Shadows and Highlights sliders can be especially useful for clawing back detail in these tricky lighting conditions.
02 noise and sharpening
When using high ISOS, like ISO3200, noise reduction is essential. Lightroom’s Detail panel is ideal for this. Begin by adjusting the Noise Luminance slider, which tackles grainy noise. Don’t push it too far as it can make details overly mushy – it’s better to be slightly grainy. After this, we can apply sharpening with the sliders above.
03 white balance fix
Under constantly changing lighting, your white balance may be off. If you shoot in Raw you can alter white balance after the shoot and achieve the same results. Use Lightroom’s Temperature and Tint sliders to correct white balance, or alternatively click over a neutral point with the White Balance eyedropper tool.
