HDR MODE

Go wild with extra dynamic range

-

HDR (High Dynamic Range) imagery has become a big thing. Indeed, most of Canon’s recent SLRS have dedicated HDR shooting modes, which combine a series of exposure-bracketed shots into a single HDR image. The idea is that much more detail can be maintained throughout an extended tonal range that covers everything from the brightest highlights to the darkest lowlights. The Benq, Dell and Viewsonic screens on test include HDR modes that enable you to enjoy images and movies that are created with greater dynamic range. However, industry support for HDR displays is still in its infancy, so HDR is best regarded as a future-proofing feature, rather than something you can make full use of right now.
