ANDY’S COMMENT
For this part of the day we came indoors to spend some time in the studio, and this was a great opportunity to get really close to some amazing creatures using a macro lens setup. David explained that a lot of the same rules applied in this environment as on the safari; backgrounds are still very important, and the focus needs to be on the eye of your subjects. We used a green backdrop for the first part of the shoot, which creates a natural environment for the gargoyle gecko. He stayed very still, so he was a great starting subject!
