LEGO STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS

Hunting carbonite cups in Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens

-

Business as usual to begin with for The Force Awakens. As a Lego adventure, there’s the usual pile of Bricks, characters and Minikits to find, so grab as many as you can during your first playthrough. But there are new features, and you’ll soon Unlearn What You Have Learned by rebuilding your first multi-build object.

Another addition is the Blaster Battle concept, and you can claim I’m Getting Pretty Good At This! by completing one of them without dying. There are, however, missable awards during these gunfights, including being Quick on the Draw by using Han to defeat an enemy while they’re preparing for an attack – this is shown by an exclamation mark appearing over their head, and can be done during the opening Battle of Endor. Unless you’re a terrible shot, you won’t get Stormtrooper Syndrome by missing your target ten times, so aim away from everything and fire off a barrage of blasts.

In Chapter 8’s Starkiller Shield Room, you can prove to be a Little Short For A Stormtrooper? by using the hat dispenser with a small character such as Wicket, then selecting the Stormtrooper helmet for humorous effect. In the same location, take care of Anything Else? by destroying all seven computer terminals as Kylo Ren – make sure you work fast to smash them before your enemies do or it won’t count.

There Has Been An Awakening… once the 12 main story missions are finished. You can then set about gathering the 60 Gold Bricks required to unlock the six New Star Wars Adventure levels. These extra missions are canon and fill in gaps from the film, so once you’ve learned how Poe Dameron rescued Admiral Ackbar and how C3PO got his red arm, you can tell everyone It’s True. All of it....

Now it’s collectibles time in earnest, so find and purchase all of the Red Bricks to become a Red Leader – focus on the multiplier bricks first and buy them as soon as possible, as this will help you rack up studs much quicker… to buy more Red Bricks, and the cycle continues! The New Jedi Will Rise once you earn the “True Jedi” rating on every level by vacuuming up enough studs, and any you don’t have already will quickly unlock once you activate those Red Brick multipliers.

Complete all of the remaining sidemissions and continue your search until you’ve found all 180 Minikits and all 35 Carbonite Bricks, which should give you 249 Gold Bricks and unlock the final Starkiller Destruction mission. Beat this for the 250th Gold Brick. When you’ve also gathered all 25 Red Bricks and 205 characters, you’ll have reached 100% completion – proving the Force Is Strong With This One and adding The Force Awakens platinum to your collection. Great, kid. Don’t get cocky.

NEXT ISSUE Troph’s return to Earth is denied, due to another space mission. A little something called No Man’s Sky.

THESE EXTRA MISSIONS ARE CANON – THEY FILL IN GAPS FROM THE FILMS, SUCH AS HOW C3PO GOT HIS RED ARM.
