STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT ROGUE ONE: SCARIF
Life’s a beach in multiplayer shooter’s last DLC
Christmas might well be a white one, but it looks like nobody’s told EA DICE – Star Wars Battlefront has come over all sweaty in its fourth and final DLC, Rogue One: Scarif. Releasing in conjunction with the new spin-off film (and free for all season pass holders), we’re jetting off to battle Sith lords and Rebel scum on the paradisiacal shores of new locale Scarif. We might have trouble getting the sand out of our Stormtrooper armour…
The new maps are set on the secluded tropical planet (used as a kind of Death Star Construction HQ), home to a military installation owned by the Galactic Empire, and all-round beauty spot. Tall, swaying palms, turquoise oceans, and intimidatingly massive AT-ATs make for some truly awe-inspiring multiplayer battle arenas.
To tie in with the upcoming film, two new faces join the already Hutt-sized Hero roster. The first? Jyn Erso, the Rebel Alliance’s crimdone-good who’s now the sergeant in charge of stealing the Death Star plans. The second? Orson Krennic, the evil Empire’s icy-eyed, blaster-wielding director of Advanced Weapons Research – and white cape enthusiast. Stylin’.
A whole host of new weapons, Star Cards and bug fixes arrive, too, alongside a new game mode that’ll finally finish up Battlefront ahead of the sequel, due late ‘17.
THE NEW MAPS ARE SET ON THE SECLUDED TROPICAL PLANET OF SCARIF (DEATH STAR CONSTRUCTION HQ).
