Old stories

-

I’m now 40 and have been a gamer for 36 years since the ZX Spectrum, which I loved, to the PS4, which I love more.

I thought gaming was moving away for old timers like me to all online group play, which is great if that’s your thing but I’m a solid single-playeronly gamer. I’m currently playing Horizon Zero Dawn, which is absolutely fantastic and playing it has made me happy that developers still have a place for folk like me. And with Kratos on his way back and a big chunk of the other games I see in the mag the future is definitely all about quality, story-driven games – you just can’t get enough of them. Long may it continue, and I’ll never stop gaming. Lee Grant via email You’ll never be too old for games, so keep playing. (Some of the team are older than you and we’re not stopping.) You’ve got some brilliant story-driven games to look forward to: flip to p74 for the verdict on God Of War.

How Far?

As a co-op gaming fan, I’ve been excited to read your previews of Far Cry 5 and A Way Out in the latest edition of your magazine. But where is your Far Cry 5 review? It’s not in the May edition yet it was released on the same day as A Way Out (which is in your publication). Pretty disappointing stuff as the game came out in March and will presumably be in your June edition, by which point it’s old news. Kieran Westbrook via email We review games as soon as we can, especially major ones like Far Cry 5, but we do have to wait for developers to give us the finished copy of the game, as we’ll only review what you can play. Review code isn’t available as early as it was in the past, and that does affect which issue a review goes in.

THE FUTURE IS DEFINITELY ALL ABOUT QUALITY, STORYDRIVEN GAMES… LONG MAY IT CONTINUE.
