RESIDENT EVIL REMAKE

Ian still finds that slow creaking of a new door opening as unnerving as ever While the number of complex lock puzzles would make being an actual resident in this mansion a day-to-day struggle, it makes for a great game. The remake’s new control system ditches the tank setup for a proper analog input, which means I can finally escape the hounds with my health and sanity intact. Dogs beaten, the drawl of a door opening gets to me.

FINAL FANTASY XII: THE ZODIAC AGE

Jess returns to Ivalice to juggle license boards and wish for a better protagonist While FFXII did not pass me by, a memory card mishap meant that I never saw its end. Then Final Fantasy was introduced to the fast-forward button and there went all my free time. But even with the lengthy list of improvements they still couldn’t upgrade Vaan as a protagonist. Oh well, time to see if he’s any less annoying in Japanese.

DEVIL MAY CRY HD COLLECTION

Oscar takes a SSStylish journey back to his demon-slaying childhood. With a red leather coat, dual pistols, and a ridiculously big sword, Dante ticked all three of my teenage interests. The slick combat and emphasis on varied, stylish combos remains heart-pounding and deliciously moreish. This trilogy package gives ready access to some of the absolute best action games ever made. And Devil May Cry 2, too.

TIME TO SEE IF FINAL FANTASY XII’S VAAN IS ANY LESS ANNOYING IN JAPANESE.
