LAST MONTH ON PS PLUS

- @KoeniginKatze

It seemed only fitting that Quantic Dream’s Beyond: Two Souls would lead the charge on PS Plus ahead of Detroit: Become Human’s May release, a sort of supernatural appetiser to the firm’s latest sci-fi main course.

Featuring performances from big names Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe, interactive movie Beyond centred on Jodie, a young woman inextricably linked to a supernatural force called Aiden. You followed her throughout her life, from a young girl to a woman on the run. If you couldn’t wait to play Quantic Dream’s latest, this sorted your interactive storytelling craving right out.

Joining Jodie was Rayman Legends. This bright, colourful platformer was well received and still worth jumping into. A continuation of Origins, Rayman woke up after an extended nap to learn that the land’s princesses had been carried off, and the Teensies needed help as well. No lie-in for him, then.

Along with the PS4 releases was Risen 3: Titan Lords – Complete

Edition on PS3. In this action RPG you awoke as a new, nameless hero in a godless world. And you’d been robbed of your soul. This version included all previously released DLC. Also on PS3 was Eat Them. From its name alone, this spiritual successor to ’80s arcade game Rampage was right up my street.

Closing out this month’s lineup on PS Vita were cute critter childcare simulator Furmins and boulder basher

King Oddball. In the former you needed to gently coax your titular beasties from point A into point Basket, while trying to avoid the horrors of physics along the way. King Oddball, on the other hand, was a being who hungered only for destruction. Using his absurdly long tongue to lob boulders, you had to destroy everything in sight in this handheld physics puzzler.
