A sequel to treasure
Given the biggest problem with the last Warriors-style One Piece game was cramming all of the 700-ish chapters of story into the game, fitting now over
900 into the new one seemed like a tall order. 1 Thankfully, instead of trying to cover everything, Omega Force has focused on a select few battles, all with weight.
Most of the biggest conflicts in One Piece are represented here across six story arcs (one an original story based on the samuraiinspired island that’s just been introduced in the anime). Within this Dramatic Log you play through story chapters, cutscenes filling you in on the broad strokes of what happened between these chunks of story. Chapters can be replayed with any character in Free Log, and a Treasure Log presents a veritable chest of challenge fights. All of these can be played with a crew via online co-op.
The story battles’ objectives2 vary a lot depending on what story they’re telling.
Each conflict, whether that’s the massive Marineford siege (several pirate warlords converge in an attempt to save Luffy’s brother from the Marines’ chopping block), or a tense duel with just one of the creative villains, is one focused stage in itself.
No matter the scale of the fight, the combat system works. Each character’s unique fighting style is represented so they all feel different to play. It’s robust enough that Omega Force’s characteristic style, all about mowing down thousands, feels satisfying even when you go toe-to-toe with a single powerful enemy. Other
