The cyberpunk classic is heading to next-gen
Bloober Team delivered one of PlayStation’s best cyberpunk games back in 2017, and now Observer is coming to PS5 in the Observer: System Redux edition. The game will feature upgraded graphics, sound, and new narrative cases for the next-gen edition.
In a future where people can augment themselves with tech, a viral plague has decimated the upgraded population. War followed and both Eastern and Western civilisations were shattered. As the world was on its knees corporations took control and will now do anything to retain their steely grip on power.
Dan Lazarski is a detective, an ‘Observer’, and his role is to maintain the status quo. Using his ability to hack into suspects’ minds to uncover the truth he soon finds himself spiralling into a conspiracy as he uncovers a hidden message from his son, an employee at the powerful Chiron Corporation.
HACKING UPGRADED
Blending detective gameplay with horror, Observer: System Redux will shock and surprise. The developer has said there will be new gameplay enhancements in this PS5 edition, and we look forward to seeing how it’ll make use of the DualSense to ensure every mind-hack feels unsettling. Coupled with how the dev could use PS5’s 3D audio tech, we expect System Redux to deliver a unique next-gen experience.
Having scored the original 9/10 in issue 141 we can’t wait to see how Bloober Team harnesses PS5 to deliver an even better experience. The game is set to release at the end of this year – are you prepared?
