SCARLET NEXUS
Stylish slasher will debut on next-gen hardware
YOU CAN EXPECT BATTLES WITH HIGH RESOLUTION AND FRAMERATE.
03From a team that worked on the Tales Of series comes a new anime-infused franchise: Scarlet Nexus, which is set to make its debut on next-gen hardware. It takes place in the far future, when strange monsters have appeared with only one thing in mind: human brains.
Protagonist Yuito Sumeragi lives in the cyber-pop city of New Himuka. He is part of the Suppression Force, ‘humanity’s last line of defence’. The Brainhungry creatures are known only as the ‘Others’ and boast wonderfully twisted designs. They are impervious to all normal types of damage, but Yuito has an ace up his sleeve… or, rather, under his floppy fringe.
SET YOUR MIND TO IT
The Others’ one weakness is a psychic attack, and our boy Yuito is telekinetic. Every member of the Suppression Force is similarly psychically gifted, and extra-sensory abilities are a common occurrence in this alternate age, thanks to the discovery of a psionic hormone in the human brain. Unfortunately, while this hormone grants psychic powers, it also makes any attuned humans’ brains especially delectable to the Others. Yuito’s only defence is a good offence, picking up whatever he can and hurling it at his foes.
Scarlet Nexus sounds very much like it will be in producer Keita Iizuka’s flashy combat wheelhouse. Known for his work on Code Vein and God Eater, he says, “Players can expect visuals and psychic battles with high resolution and framerate along with fully interactive real-time battles with dynamic animation.”
