Wayward sons
The Wayward’s bar-crew, who’ll introduce you to what’s new in Wastelanders
MORDECAI ‘MORT’ MCCOY
Voiced by Jason Mewes of Jay & Silent Bob fame, this ghoul mercenary has made The Wayward his home of sorts. His Headmaster Mort series of holotapes provides a more palatable tutorial on Fallout 76’s systems, and he gives you some valuable information to help you complete quests to protect The Wayward.
POLLY
When you meet this Assaultron she’s just a head, and you can use her as a laser gun to fend off Appalachia’s Scorched enemies. One of our favourite introductory quests had us exploring the nearby semiabandoned robot shop to find her a new body.
BESSIE
The Wayward’s stalwart protector is Bessie, a powerful robot who moos pleasantly at you robotically when you interact with her.
DUCHESS
She runs the bar and will send you off on your first quests after new wastelanders waiting outside Vault 76 point you in her direction. With a murky past, she’s travelled to Appalachia for a fresh start, brewing her own alcohol and providing a safe haven for travellers. But she’ll need your help to keep it that way, getting bloody on her behalf…
SOL
He might seem like a simple ranger, but Sol is actually a smart roboticist. Calling Polly his “bot-sis”, the two make quite the team, and he’s always worried about putting her in danger. Sol goes out of his way to make sure Polly’s treated as the intelligent ’bot she is.
THE OVERSEER
Over the hill, you finally meet Vault 76’s absent leader in Wastelanders, as the second half of the main quests kick off from her house. You can begin them at any time, but she’ll only allow you to take them on if you’re Level 20 or higher.
