Techland’s dark fantasy rises from the dead

-

Dying Light – Hellraid

Techland resurrects its dark fantasy project as DLC, allowing you to have a hell of a good time testing out your parkour skills against demons.

Even though Dying Light 2 is on the horizon, Techland has continued to support the first game with updates, including a fresh piece of DLC, Hellraid, due to be released this summer. It’s a crossover with the studio’s unreleased game of the same name that was put on hold in 2015, and gives fans a taste of that game’s universe as it adds some final challenges to Dying Light.

A game within a game, in it The Tower’s inhabitants’ problems begin when they discover a mysterious arcade cabinet, which seems to have appeared out of nowhere, in their basement. (Perhaps that’s the real-life fate of Hellraid too?) Not only does this result in a new area for you to parkour around, the Dungeon, it gives you some hellish weapons to batter enemies with. Zombies are no longer the only ambassadors of death you have to worry about, as this portal from Hell ushers in demonic legions to face.

As the on-hold Hellraid was a fast first-person fantasy slasher, its world had a fair amount in common with Dying

Light’s post-zombie setting, so giving us our first Hellraid trip via the medium of Dying Light makes sense. While Techland has confirmed it’s not developing Hellraid further at this time, it wanted to show some of the devs’ ideas for the dark fantasy world for fans to play through for themselves.

ZOMBIES ARE NO LONGER THE ONLY AMBASSADORS OF DEATH YOU HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT.
