SNIPER ELITE 4
WW2 shooter finds its groove in multiplayer

FORMAT PS4 PUB REBELLION DEV REBELLION REVIEW #134, 7/10
While Karl Fairburne’s single-player adventure suffers a little from content overload, heading onto the online battlegrounds is where a comprehensive suite of modes pays off. There’s the heart-rate-troubling competitive multiplayer, where one-shot kills are a frequent punishment to impatient players, and modes like No Cross, where an area of no-man’s-land forces teams to go for long-distance kills. There’s also the co-op, where you can replay story missions with a pal, and Survival, which gets you to fight with four others to repel waves of Nazi soldiers. Nothing is revolutionary, but there’s plenty of variety that pushes the game’s mechanics in entertaining ways. Just leave the run-and-gun game plans in the lobby.
VERDICT
While the delayed gratification won’t be to everyone’s taste, there’s more than enough here to keep dedicated snipers happy for months to come. Ben Tyrer
