Ancient Egyptian ruler Seteki The Witch Queen has unleashed all manner of monstrosities, and only you and three friends, plus your trusty rifle and dashing good looks, can save the world.
Four characters have so far been revealed, and include a British soldier and a Masai warrior. Each of the heroes will have a unique weapon set, abilities, and special powers to call upon. Adding to the arcade overtones is a booming narrator who’ll comment on your sharp shots.
The gameplay looks solid, but it’s the pulpy 1930s styling that impresses. And in keeping with the ‘end of Empire’ adventure theme every map will include hidden tombs to explore, with glittering treasures and bonus loot on offer for teams who keep their nerve.
The sense of sheer fun oozing from Strange Brigade makes us forgive any shortcomings in the core gameplay – if Rebellion can maintain the campness of the premise, we’ll sign up.
