Huzzah for more moody, time-twiddling teen antics! A sequel to the acclaimed episodic adventure was announced at E3 and we saw how three scenes from its first episode – titled Awake – played out.
Before The Storm is set three years before the events of the first series, with Chloe Price returning alongside high school chum Rachel Amber. Now rebellious teens, we discover how the pair meet at a rock concert at an abandoned mill on the fringe of Arcadia Bay. Cue lots of dialogue and story choices, each offering divergent outcomes.
Judging from the debut gameplay footage, the action is certainly going to be eclectic. Train crashes! Car crashes! Moping teen tantrums at rubbish tips! Rowdy Roddy gigs in barns! A weird obsession with crows!
Will there be as much focus on time-rewinding, butterfly effect action this time out? We’re not sure yet. But with the first of its three episodes due out 31 August, you won’t have long to wait to see if Chloe can fiddle with the fabric of time.
