Gives new meaning to friendly fire

Once you get past that creepy moment when it feels like there’s a complete stranger in your living room with you, waving a gun, the sharp shooting action of Farpoint really shines.
The only online mode is co-op, a series of score-chasing arcade levels with a second PS-Aimcontroller-toting player joining the fray. The setup offers competition and co-operation in equal measure.
Co-op proves a far greater challenge than the single-player trudge. Finding a partner is swift and seamless, there’s no lag to blame for a poor shot, and the arcade nature of the gunplay means shy types needn’t feel the need to bark orders. Being in VR, communication tends to amount to Chaplin-esque mimery, making co-op even more of a novelty.
VERDICT
Teamwork gives way to an undercurrent of competition as you and a friend chase high scores, making Farpoint’s co-op mode a PS VR highlight. Ian Dean
