Sleepless nights are on the menu as we prepare for seconds

While Six’s adventures through the unnerving bowels of the Maw might not quite reach the heights we want, we still came away from them with an appetite for more. That’s why this expansion pass is so enticing. Costing just £7.99 and split into three parts – with The Depths out now, The Hideaway coming in November, and the final chapter early next year – you’ll play as new scruffy protagonist The Runaway Kid.

The shaggy-haired escapee could do with one in this first episode. The Depths focuses on The Kid’s descent into the waterlogged bilges of the Maw, where a new monster called The Granny lurks. Cuddles aren’t on the agenda. She’ll try to drag The Runaway Kid to his death as he charts a path through the submerged area. By using floating debris you will be able to pick your way through the room, with Granny waiting just beneath the surface.

The Hideaway will give us a greater helping of the triangle-headed Nomes, as The Runaway Kid continues his journey through the ship. Sadly, we’ll be waiting a while for the finale, but it’ll wrap up The Kid’s story as well as offering a different perspective on Six’s actions during the original game.

Considering the fair price tag, these new adventures look like a good way to expand the nightmares, just a little.
