Welcome

Having waited since 2013, it feels like we’re finally getting close to the release of Kingdom Hearts III (p50) – just knowing it’s coming this year is enough. This issue we showcase the latest Monsters Inc screens and details, as well as rounding up everything you need to know about the game, and the series, to date.

Not one to miss out on a trend, Red Dead Redemption II (p12) has kept us waiting, too. This issue we get a solid release date – and new screens to drool over too.

Being a big fan of horror games it’s also exciting to be able to bring you new details, the first in-game screens (screams?) and impressions of some of the best frighteners coming to PS4. We have an exclusive playtest of PS VR’s The Persistence (p40) and the first gameplay details on World War Z (p44), as well as going hands-on with action-RPG Vampyr (p42). A personal favourite is A Plague Tale (p32), which feels like Ico stepping on Hellblade’s muddy toes. It’s a sleeper hit worth waiting for.
