Wacky racer delivers spills, thrills… and shiba inu
What do you think would happen if you took the limp brawlers of Gang Beasts, dropped them off in a bizarro version of Japan, and told them to be the first over the finish line by any means necessary? You might get a little something like Nippon Marathon.

one of up to four players, you have to dodge a variety of obstacles to get to the finish line. But you won’t just have to contend with shiba inu attack dogs or barrels in your path; your fellow contestants have their own arsenals of deadly fruit to hurl. If you get hit, prepare to rag-doll as you give up whatever ground you’ve gained to date.
But it’s not all just a simple day at the races – that would be far too sensible. Your show of sportsmanship may suddenly be interrupted by a slot machine or even an eye-inthe-sky journalist hopping down for a quick interview.
The on-brand battiness of Nippon Marathon, reminiscent of Takeshi’s Castle, proves no surprise for anyone familiar with publisher PQube’s back catalogue, which includes Rabi-Ribi and Cat Quest. It remains to be seen if this becomes a team favourite here at OPM Towers, but remember – it’s not the winning that matters, it’s the taking part.
