The versatile Chromebook Spin 13 has a 360-degree hinge for use in 4 different modes: tablet, display, tent-mode or notebook

Although its gaming machines keep bringing in the big bucks, Acer is not forgetting its business customers its two new laptops, the “Chromebook Spin 13” and “TravelMate X514”, each with long battery life and powerful processors to support the modern workforce.

The convertible Chromebook Spin 13 has a 360-degree hinge for use in four different modes: tablet, display, tent-mode or notebook.

It has a 13.5-inch QHD 2256 x 1504, 3:2 aspect ratio display, boasting clear and crisp visuals and 18% more vertical space compared to a regular 16:9 display.

Featuring a dual USB 3.1 Type-C port, the Chromebook Spin 13 has the capability to transfer data quickly, plus it features a dual slot-antennae for 2×2 MIMO 802.11ac Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.2.

The Chromebook Spin 13 has a Wacom EMR stylus with its own pen garage on the base of the laptop.

Acer also claims that the Chromebook Spin 13 will provide up to 10 hours of battery life on a single charge.

The TravelMate X514 is built with travelling business-people in mind, weighing less than 1Kg and only 14.9mm for easy portability.

Although lightweight, Acer says it can still handle serious workloads thanks to the latest 8th Gen Intel Core processor, DDR4 memory, and the “super-alert” PCle NVMe SSD.

It features a 14” FHD IPS touchscreen display, 9.2mm bezels, Acer’s Trusted Platform Module (TPM)

2.0 for an extra layer of protection of company data, and is Certified for Skype for Business.

The touchscreen and touchpad both feature Corning

Gorilla Glass for scratch-resistance and “smooth navigation and a slicker feel” than traditional plastic.

Acer also promises up to 10 hours of battery life on the TravelMate X514 and includes reversible USB Type-C port for transferring data and power-sharing.

“The workplace is becoming less traditional. With the rise in work-life integration consumers are demanding laptops that can keep up with their business needs,” said Darren Simmons, Oceanic Managing Director at Acer.

“We have listened to our customers and evolved our laptops to equip them with a tool to conquer the demands of a modern workforce.”

TravelMate X514 will be available in 14-inch and Touch LCD, starting from AU$1879. The Chromebook Spin 13 will be available starting from AU$1199.
