LG 2021 TV Range
LG's 2021 TVs are inching closer to landing in Australia, with the brand-spanking-new range practically visible on the horizon.
LG Electronics has officially announced the global rollout of its 2021 TV range with an expanded lineup that features new OLED, QNED Mini LED and NanoCell TVs, and it's only a couple of months before these new products hit shelves.
The brand say that select TV series, models and sizes will begin rolling out to participating retailers by July 2021 and will continue to land throughout the remainder of the year with dates and line-ups announced locally.
The new collection offers a wider range of screen sizes that should appeal to a wider range of consumers, starting off with a smallspace-friendly 43 inches; going up to a new-tomarket 83 inches; and max out at a dramatic, cinematic 88-inches.
There's something here for every living room.
The OLED TVs (series Z1, G1, C1, B1, A1) for 2021 all boast self-lit panels that produce ultra-sharp, ultra-realistic picture quality and smooth, natural motion. They're built to complement the space they're in, with designs that are alarmingly slim.
All models in the G1 series feature LG's new OLED evo technology – the next step in the evolution of OLED TVs that delivers better luminosity for higher brightness and punchy images with amazing clarity, detail and realism.
The C1 series, LG's most popular OLED TV range, offers the most screen size options – from 48” up to 83” and everything in between.
For a better-accessible entry into the world of OLED, the LG B1 and A1 series may have struck that sweet spot between competitively priced and top of the line.
As for totally fresh newbies 2021, the QNED Mini LED TVs represent a big step up in LCD TV picture quality. This technology comes in 8K models (QNED99 and QNED96) and 4K variants (QNED91). These models have LG's Quantum Dot NanoCell+ technology and Mini LED backlighting to achieve deeper blacks, more vibrant, accurate colours and greater contrast than conventional LCD TVs.
LG's QNED Mini LED TV sets a new standard for the LCD TV category, utilising new NanoCell Plus technology as well as quantum dot to deliver improved red and green while the blue wavelength is emitted from the LED.
Out of the whole line-up, the new NanoCell 8K and 4K TVs offer the most options, with 8K models (NANO99, NANO 95) and 4K models (NANO90, NANO85, NANO80, NANO77, NANO75) units to choose from.
All models feature LG NanoCell display technology. This uses nanoparticles to filter out colour impurities, and the result is hyper-lifelike picture and movement.
All of LG's premium 2021 TVs are compatible with the latest standards and content formats and offer brand-new features and functions, along with support for Dolby Vision IQ, Dolby Atmos, HDR10 PRO and Filmmaker Mode.
Featured in the majority of this year's LG TVs is its latest intelligent processor, a9 (Alpha) 9 Gen 4 AI.
Integrating improved deep learning, the upgraded processor boosts upscaling performance to make content of any quality look sharp and detailed on the new TVs' high-resolution screens.
The a9 Gen 4 further optimises visual output, making precise adjustments in accordance with the amount of light in each scene, the genre of content playing and even the ambient conditions in the room where you're watching.
LG's AI Picture Pro gives picture quality a boost; it recognises on-screen objects and processes them independently to enhance the three-dimensionality and depth of a scene.
AI Sound Pro up-mixes two-channel audio to virtual 5.1.2 surround while Auto Volume Levelling ensures a consistent volume when switching between channels or streaming apps, so that when you go from, say, Netflix to live TV, there won't be a sudden, jarring change in loudness.
For its newest TVs, LG has revamped its user interface. The new webOS 6.0 for 2021 is the latest version of the company's intuitive smart TV platform and it's been refined to allow faster access to apps as well as simpler content discovery with more intuitive recommendations.
The redesigned Magic Remote has dedicated hot keys for popular content providers, so users can jump directly to services with a push of a button.
