The all-new Trek Factory Racing team could scarcely have imagined a better start to their existence at the 8th Tour de San Luis. Here, Giacomo Nizzolo pips a resurgent Tom Boonen to the line, backing up his team-mate Julian Arredondo’s victory on the summit finish of stage 2. It was also a good week for the race which, with the help of financial backing from the government, has grown from its humble beginnings into an early-season highlight.
