TRACEY GAUDRY
MOULDING WOMEN’S CYCLING
Only the second woman in history to have a seat on the UCI Management Committee, now one of that body’s vice-presidents, and also the president of the UCI’s newly formed Women’s Commission, Tracey Gaudry has very quickly become one of the most powerful individuals in female sport. Since Brian Cookson’s election in September and a widening of her remit, the 44-year- old Australian former rider has already been instrumental in several positive developments, among them the introduction of La Course by Le Tour de France. Less militant revolutionary than quiet yet determined reformer, Gaudry should continue to make significant strides thanks to both her diplomatic nature and strong, mutually supportive relationship with Cookson.
