GIRO AEROHEAD ULTIMATE
£ 499.99 ||| $ 550
The Ultimate version of Giro’s Aerohead TT helmet di fers in two key ways. First, it’s made of Textreme carbon ibre, a very high grade which allows the shell to be a slimmer shape than is possible with polycarbonate for minimal frontal area and more speed. Second, it has no vents, saving a couple of watts for short races where cooling doesn’t matter, such as the 2015 Tour prologue, won by BMC’s Rohan Dennis with a recordbreaking average speed. The Ultimate version comes with a carry case and additional clear visor; this one weighs 506g. The standard Aerohead is half the cost, better ventilated and actually 3g lighter.
