Joins Orica on a two-year contract along with Simon. Adam wins the young rider classi ication at his irst pro stage race, the Tour de San Luis. He goes on to inish 11th overall

MAY 2014

At the Tour of Turkey, Yates inishes second behind Rein Taaramäe on the stage to Elmali. Two days later, the 21-year-old takes his irst win and seals the GC on his 34th race day as a pro.

Yates’s amazing debut year continues with a strong showing at the Tour of California. He’s 11 seconds behind Rohan Dennis on the stage to Mount Diablo and ends the race in ifth place on GC

Yates misses the Tour to build up for the Vuelta. At the end of the month his form is proved again with victory in the GP Larciano in Italy. He goes to the Vuelta to learn and inishes 82nd

Yates has a quieter spring, but still bags ninth on GC at Tirreno-Adriatico. He makes Orica’s Tour team and goes with the intention of chasing breaks. He inishes three stages in the top 10

SEPTEMBER 2015

Yates inishes second at the Tour of Alberta. Ten days later, in torrential rain, he attacks on the inal climb of the GP Montréal but is beaten by Tim Wellens in a two-up sprint.

JULY 2016

Yates scores top 10s at the Tour de Yorkshire and the Dauphiné. He sits in second at the Tour after stage 7 but slips to third after the irst TT and fourth after stage 19. He takes the white jersey

MARCH 2017

Yates wins the GP Industria e Artigianato di Larciano – his second – in Tuscany from a small sprint. At the end of the month he inishes fourth in the Volta a Catalunya
