BRAND HISTORY

Taiwan-based Giant was irst established in 1972 and in the 45 years since has grown into the world’s biggest bike manufacturer, initially supplying bikes for Schwinn then striking out with its own brand in 1981. The company has a long asscociation with professional cycling and road racing. The TCR (total compact road) design, with its characteristic sloping top tube, was developed in the second half of the 1990s, with ONCE riding the frameset to the Tour de France podium with Joseba Beloki. Denis Menchov won the Giro d’Italia in 2009 riding the TCR Advanced SL. Now Sunweb are riding the latest iteration of the TCR in the WorldTour, while the women’s Rabo Liv team rode Giants between 2009 and 2016.
