20 & 22 July, 1.1, Italy La Course decamps to the Alps and then a couple of days later, to Marseille. On 20 July, the peloton races from Briançon to the summit of the Col d’Izoard a couple of hours before the men. At 66km, its brevity has raised questions from those who think women deserve a sterner challenge. ASO’s riposte is a reverse Australian pursuit-style race in Marseilles before the men’s TT. Riders who inish within ive minutes of the Izoard winner set o f according to the time gaps at the top of the mountain. The racers are allowed to collaborate and it’s irst across the line who wins.
