WHO’S BEATING PETER?

-

Sagan may have seven stage wins at the Tour de France, but he’s just as famous for his high !inishes that aren’t wins. In total, he’s had 18 second places, eight third places and eight fourth places. To illustrate the variety of riders he goes up against, we’ve listed all the riders who have !inished ahead of him in all these second-to-fourth places. Mark Cavendish, André Greipel and Marcel Kittel seem to be the riders who consistently beat him, which demonstrates that Sagan is a very good bunch sprinter, even if he’s got all-round talent. But the fact that he’s been up there !ighting for stage wins with riders like Vincenzo Nibali, Greg Van Avermaet, Tony Martin and Lars Boom shows that while he might not be better than any of these riders at their specialities, his breadth of talent is huge.
