When Mark Cavendish hit the line irst on stage 1 at the Tour last year, he was wearing the Met Manta, the Italian brand’s latest and fastest helmet. Seeing as Cav went on to win another three stages in the Manta, its wind tunnel test igures remain impressive (it saves 10 watts at 50kph compared to other similar helmets, claims Met) and it weighs just 200g, the designers felt no need to meddle with the lid. It comes in eight colourways, including the beguiling CVNDSH version.
