3 BOB JUNGELS
QUICK STEP FLOORS
The Luxembourger wore the pink jersey for three days in 2016. This year the burgeoning GC talent improved on that with five days in pink and a stage win – his first in a Grand Tour – in Bergamo. The 24-year-old claimed the white jersey for the second time in as many years and was eighth overall on the final day in Milan. This was all achieved while contributing to the stage winning efforts of Gaviria, which began when he splintered the peloton on stage 5 to Messina. During the race, Jungels made no secret that he aimed to emulate Dumoulin and become a Grand Tour contender himself.
