Don’t be fooled by the lack of any big name cols as this won’t be easy at all. The Jura mountains are deceptively hard and this stage could well catch out a few riders who haven’t coped well with the nervous first week. After a day of constant climbing and descending the slog up to Station des Rousses merits its first-category status. Sometimes narrow, sometimes steep, it’s perfect if you’ve got the form but if you haven’t you won't be coming back after the GPM as it’s interminable false flats toward the line.
