They took a shorter route between the two towns, but in 1994 there was a TT from Périgueux to Bergerac, which was the scene of one of the most one-sided TT beatings in modern history. Miguel Indurain won it, putting two minutes into second-placed Tony Rominger, and over four minutes into the third-placed rider.
