The Peyragudes finish in 2012 has happy memories for Alejandro Valverde and slightly uncomfortable ones for Chris Froome and Sky. This will be the latter’s opportunity to rectify that situation as the stage follows a very similar finale. The two big cols before the Peyresourde are a grinding down process ahead of what will be another massive day for the GC contenders and the polka dot jersey. The Pyrenees’ heat and humidity typically don’t suit everyone and there’ll be many riders not looking forward to this stage at all.
