The Balès-Peyresourde-Peyragudes trio featured in 2012. The three climbs get less di icult – an HC, followed by a catone and then a cat-two. This means that the break has a good chance of success, as long as the riders can get over the Balès. Alejandro Valverde, no threat in the GC in '12, proved it was possible.
