TOUR HISTORY

The last time the Tour had a stage win at Serre Chevalier, which is two thirds of the way down the Lautaret descent to Briançon, the stage was much the same, climbing the Glandon, Télégraphe and Galibier. Tony Rominger won there in 1993 in a three-up sprint, with only four more riders inishing within 4:30.
