“Hardware” implies utilitarian austerity – practical items such as locks, keys, chains and machine parts. But when the word is HardWear and it’s associated with Tiffany & Co., it takes on a whole new meaning. The “Ball Dangle” ring ($2950), from the just-released “Tiffany HardWear” collection, is functional enough for everyday use but it’s anything but ordinary. The 18-carat-gold wide band (9.5 millimetres) is embellished with rivets and a dangling gold bauble but, despite its heavy-duty look, it’s lightweight and easy to wear. Visit tiffany.com.
