All in the details There’s a wonderful atmosphere and creative buzz at Perri Cutten’s headquarters in Richmond, Melbourne. It looks exactly like a fashion house should: fabric swatches and sketches are strewn across large desks; racks bulging with upcoming styles line the walls; images to inspire new ideas are tacked to a corkboard in the corner. The gentle whirr of sewing machines completes the picture. Every design this iconic Australian label creates begins here, handdrawn and pieced together by the in-house machinist. Fabrics are tested, fits are tweaked and colour changes are discussed until the team is confident that the piece reflects the essence of the Perri Cutten brand: refined, feminine and classic with a modern twist. The goal each season is to produce a range reflecting international trends in city and evening wear, including exclusive pieces in luxury fabrics.
