Duty free: Due to Australian government regulations, if you are travelling on a service to Australia and have purchased duty-free liquids, aerosols and gels (LAGs) in excess of 100ml in Dubai, your duty-free items will be safely packaged upon purchase, taken from you at the departure gate and stowed as checked baggage. If you have purchased duty-free LAGs at the start of your journey and are transiting through Dubai, these items will also be taken from you at the departure gate, safely packaged and stowed as checked baggage. If you are already in possession of one resealable bag with a maximum dimension of 80cm containing LAGs less than 100ml and you purchase any additional duty-free LAGs, these products will also be packaged at your boarding gate and stowed as checked baggage.

If you have purchased duty-free LAGs, you will need to be at your departure gate at least 20 minutes prior to your flight to allow enough time for your purchases to be loaded onto the aircraft. You can collect your stowed dutyfree purchases upon arrival in Australia at the Oversized Baggage counter in the Arrivals hall.

Transfers: While Qantas operates from Concourse A, if you’re transferring onto an Emirates flight, it could depart from and arrive at any of the three concourses (A, B or C) in Terminal 3. To transfer, follow the Connections signage located throughout the concourse. If you’re holding a boarding pass for your onward flight, then follow the Passengers with Boarding Pass signs and proceed through Security and on to your departure gate. First customers and Platinum Frequent Flyers can proceed to the Emirates First Lounge. Business customers, Gold Frequent Flyers and Qantas Club members can proceed to the Emirates Business Lounge.

If you’re not holding a boarding pass for your onward flight, follow the Passengers without Boarding Pass signs and go to the Connections Desk, where your boarding pass will be issued. You may then proceed through Security. Transfer trains are available between concourses A and B should you need to commute between them to your departure gate. Concourses B and C are connected by a pedestrian route. Details of your departure gate and boarding time will be available on flight information screens in the airport. Ensure you leave time to get to your departure gate and note that Terminal 3 is a silent terminal – no announcements.

Transits: If you are transiting through Dubai, you will need to take all your carry-on baggage with you when you disembark your flight. You can then proceed through Security and directly to your departure gate. Upon arrival at your departure gate, you will be required to hand over LAGs that exceed 100ml, including any alcohol or fragrances purchased duty-free in Australia or London. Details of your departure gate and boarding time will be available on flight information screens throughout the airport. Ensure you leave sufficient time to get to your departure gate and note that Terminal 3 is a silent terminal – no announcements.
