Run route For a 7.5-kilometre loop, turn right onto Woodland Avenue and follow it along San Francisqui­to Creek to Palo Alto Avenue until you reach El Palo Alto Park and the giant 1078-year-old redwood tree, El Palo Alto, that gave the area its name. Turn left at Alma Street then left at Everett Avenue to return to the hotel.

Coffee nearby Visit Blue Bottle Coffee (456 University Avenue) in the former Varsity Theatre built in the 1920s. As well as espresso, blend and single-origin coffees, there’s a Cold Bar Menu offering coffee cocktails.
