And talking of flamingos...
Flamingos have synchronous behaviour, i.e. all members of a group do the exact same thing. If a few birds start to clean their feathers, the rest of the group will follow suit.
When a flamingo is looking for food such as small crayfish, it bends its head in the water, so the beak is upside down, turning it into a type of filter for finding food in water and mud.
Flamingos stand on one leg for two reasons: to give the other leg a rest and to keep warm. In cold weather, a flamingo quicly loses heat via the long legs, particularly when standing in water.
