Vaccine causes very few severe side effects

The most common side effects of ordinary vaccines such as MMR are tenderness, swelling at the site of injection, and slight fever. It occurs in very few cases, and is harmless.

5 %: Rash

The MMR vaccine causes skin rash in a few cases. The harmless rash usually develops after a week and disappears after two or three days.

0.00004-0.0001 %: Meningitis

Doctors cannot completely rule out a connection between the MMR vaccine and meningitis, which 0.4-1 in 1,000,000 vaccinated people get. In comparison, one in 2,500 measles patients get meningitis.
