Calculation shows planet
An unknown planet is probably hiding on the other side of Pluto, according to new research carried out by Caltech in the US.
Scientists have nicknamed the potential new member Planet Nine, and although the planet has not yet been directly observed, calculations demonstrate that the planet has a mass of up to 10 times Earth’s, and its orbit is highly elliptical, resulting in an estimated orbit time around the Sun of 10,000-20,000 years. The planet’s gravity and extreme orbit can explain why six of the Kuiper Belt’s outermost objects align slightly in the same direction.
