Pan­das liv­ing in cap­tiv­ity can grow about 40 years old. The cost of longevity is poor vi­sion, worn teeth, in­flex­i­ble limbs, and poor di­ges­tion. To give the old an­i­mals op­ti­mum con­di­tions, China aims to build a nurs­ing home of­fer­ing cosy sleep­ing places, mod­er­ate ex­er­cise, and per­son­alised food.
