PREHISTORIC CAT "STABBED" ITS PREY

Size: Some 1.10 mt alland2.5m long. Weight: Up to 225 kg. Diet: With lethal accuracy, 18 cm canine teeth, and a jaw joint which could open 90 degrees, the sabre-toothed tiger killed woolly rhinos, mammoths, giant ground sloths, etc. Range: Discovered in the UK, Germany, Portugal, France, and Spain. Extinct: Approximately 10,000 years ago.
