Star Produces Odd Light Fluctuations

-

A large object could once again have passed in front of the enigmatic KIC 8462852 star. That is the conclusion of scientists following a series of new observations, which show how the star’s light has been blocked out by a large, inexplicable object. The same thing happened several times in 2011-2013, when the Kepler Telescope observed decreases in the star’s brightness of about 20%. Even major planets cannot cause such light reductions. If Jupiter were to pass in front of the Sun, our star would only lose 1 % of its brightness. Back then, the controversial theory was that the light reductions could be huge clusters of solar power stations built by intelligent life.
