Since 2006, the bees of North America and Europe have been under pressure. Every year, more than 30 % of bee colonies are lost, because the workers die. According to some scientists, pesticides weaken the bees' immune systems, making them more vulnerable to the lethal Varroa mite, which invades beehives.
