DOCTORS GET A WINDOW ON THE SKULL

A newly developed ceramic material allows doctors to treat brain tumours with ultrasound, which otherwise has difficulties penetrating the skull. Doctors replace a small piece of skull the size of a 20 cent coin with the material, obtaining a small window on the brain, through which ultra-sonic waves can enter.
